Absolute Staffers LLC is seeking a skilled and reliable Phlebotomist to join our team for placement at one of our client in Yazoo City, MS. Key Responsibilities:
Duties The contractor will provide Phlebotomy Services in a method commensurate with the local community. These services, although not directly supervised, will be reviewed by a physician on staff at the institution. The performance of these services will also be verified by the designated (COR). The Contractor will be responsible for the following:
•Assist the Physician, Physician Assistant, and/or Nurse with patient flow in a clinic setting by measuring the patient’s vital signs and weight and scanning laboratory results in the Bureau Electronic Medical Record (BEMR).
• Organize, schedule, and perform laboratory studies, specimen collection and process within the Health Service Unit, to include A&O in-processing, DNA per procedure, vaccine programs and PPD updates.
• Prepare and ensure specimens are packed and transported according to the BPA or BOP Reference Lab and document per Health Services Unit Laboratory Procedures. Ensure that lab requests are completed properly, and all reports are returned from the BPA lab, provider notified, log results in as received, follow up appropriately, and file results in lab and medical record.
• Acquire and maintain knowledge of the Health Services Manual and Unit Procedures necessary to accomplish the mission described herein, ensuring that the Laboratory Procedure Manual is updated accordingly.
• Assist the Health Service Administrator (HSA) or his/her designee in the coordination of BOP and Contract Reference . Lab contact, CLIA re-certification, maintenance of equipment and notification of needed supplies
Experience Requirements
- Minimum least 1 year of experience providing Phlebotomist services.
Qualifications
- Must have valid certification to practice in the state of Mississippi as a Medical Assistant, Laboratory Assistant, Emergency Medical Technician or Phlebotomist.
- Must have graduated from an accredited school or program for phlebotomy
- Must hold CPR Certification (American Red Cross or American Heart Association).
Schedule
- Work Hours: 7:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m., with a thirty (30) Monday through Friday, Forty (40) hours per week.
