Job Description: #IND
- Advising and collaborating with management to resolve occupational health issues.
- Creating and executing studies to monitor and assess employees' exposure to health risks, and to measure the effectiveness of occupational health programs, policies, and procedures.
- Overseeing biological monitoring programs.
- Assessing and analyzing research data, summarizing statistics, and compiling reports.
- Proposing and leading the implementation of programs to protect employee health, and implementing ergonomics.
- Conducting regular audits of programs.
- Ensuring employee awareness of occupational health and safety concerns, programs, and regulations by conducting training and presentations.
- Implementing corrective actions and suspending operations if required.
- Advising various parties on workers' compensation claims pertaining to workplace exposures.
- Maintaining current knowledge of occupational health and safety legislation.
Education:
- A Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Hygiene or Occupational Health and Safety from a regionally accredited college or university or prior certification as a 7-level Bioenvironmental Engineering Technician or sister-service equivalent industrial hygiene technician.
Experience:
- Contractor must be familiar with industrial hygiene concepts, practices, and procedures.
- A minimum of 4 years of experience as an IH is required. Experience requirement may be waived if the individual has completed relevant internships and possesses a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Hygiene.
Work Environment/Physical Requirements:
- Requirements include prolonged walking, standing, sitting or bending. Must be able to carry 20-30 pounds.
Schedule:
- Weekly hours shall not exceed a forty (40) hour work week and a typical work day will be 0700 to 1600 Monday through Friday.
