Absolute Staffers is hiring a General Physician to provide medical services at FCI Oakdale, LA. 

Roles and Responsibilities: 

1. Provide medical services for acute and chronic conditions among the general inmate population, including the Reintegration Housing Unit and Special Housing Units. 

1. Evaluate and treat inmates requiring emergency medical care and routine chronic care. 

1. Perform comprehensive history and physical examinations. 

1. Review and sign diagnostic and consultative reports. 

1. Provide clinical guidance to mid-level providers, nurses, and EMTs. 

1. Maintain detailed medical record documentation and correct deficiencies in a timely manner. 

1. Provide consultation, urgent, and emergency care as needed, with immediate response for urgent/emergency cases. 

1. Coordinate with the Clinical Director, Medical Officer, and Health Services Administrator. 

1. Provide a monthly work schedule at least seven days before the beginning of each month. 

1. Sign the consultant log at each visit, including arrival and departure times. 

1. Comply with the BOP Health Services Manual, institutional mandates, and AAAHC standards of care. 

1. This role is not permitted to supervise inmates or BOP staff, provide staff escorts, participate in inmate accountability, requisition supplies, formulate policy, or attend institution meetings/staff recalls. 

Qualifications and Experience: 

1. Current and valid medical license to practice medicine in any U.S. state. 

1. Current CPR certification. 

1. Professional/malpractice liability insurance meeting FAR 52.237-7 and local community prevailing standards. 

1. Experience working with medical equipment. 

1. Ability to pass a drug screening and law enforcement background check. 

1. Ability to complete the required security clearance/background investigation, if not already completed. 

1. Must be free of communicable diseases and provide current TB (TST/PPD) documentation and Hepatitis B vaccination or exposure follow-up documentation.
